"Build and Play Club is the perfect opportunity for first and second graders to engage in the crucial developmental activities of building and pretend play. Using a variety of STEAM-related toys such as wooden unit blocks, Contraptions blocks, K’Nex, Magnatiles, Moon Toys, toy gnomes, cars, and vintage Fisher Price Little People toys; students will explore engineering and design in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Pretend play with these structures encourages creative storytelling, language development, relationship building, conflict resolution, and abstract thinking. Building toys foster creativity, problem-solving, spatial reasoning, and teamwork. Together these endeavors support social development. In a world where structured schedules often leave little time for cooperative play, this club offers the chance for kids to engage their imaginations, build friendships, and develop critical STEAM skills—all while having fun!"
