About This Activity
Description
This camp for middle and high schoolers with previous playing experience, is directed by Margaret Maclean, head field hockey coach at University of New Haven. Coach Mac is a former college All-American and All-Conference field hockey player, who was named NCAC Coach of the Year in 2022. She is assisted by Abbey Kemble, head coach of Eastern University. Bringing much energy and enthusiasm for the game, Coaches Mac and Kemble focus on offensive and defensive skills, decision making and game strategy via small group instruction and scrimmaging. Players are grouped according to age and skill and the camp is designed for those who have played field hockey and want to take their game to the next level. This is not a learn to play camp. Campers must provide a field hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard, cleats or turf shoes, certified field hockey eye goggles (optional), and water. Players should also bring a defensive corner mask if already owned and $2 for an extra mouth guard if needed. Please wear athletic clothing.
