This class is designed for older students who have taken cooking classes before and have a real interest in cooking. Each lesson will focus on an item of produce or technique each week. At this level, the students will work with the instructor to choose the recipes we will learn this trimester and build on skills we learned in the fall. Topics covered will include knife skills, kitchen and food safety and cleanliness, measurement, and how to read a recipe. Students will work together in groups on the recipes, adding their own flare and twists when possible. Recipes will be vegetarian, though meat might be an option occasionally. **If your child has a food allergy, please ensure our Cooking Instructor and Program Coordinator has an updated information about all restrictions and possible medications. ** Please note class starts on January 29th and ends March 19th.
