About This Activity
Get ready to twirl, leap, and dance your heart out in this exciting dance class designed just for 4-year-olds to 2nd-grade students! This class is provided by the Cathedral Arts Project, a nationally recognized nonprofit, and takes place conveniently at your child's school. Our experienced instructor will guide your child through the vibrant worlds of Jazz, Modern, and Dance Theatre, teaching fundamentals and developing essential skills through age-appropriate movement and music. Young dancers will explore, create, and choreograph their own dances, showcasing their progress and newfound skills through a delightful performance for family and friends at the end of the program. The excitement reaches new heights as students have the incredible opportunity to perform in the best venue in town – the Jacksonville Center for Performing Arts – during CAP's annual Performing Arts Showcase in May. This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows young dancers to shine on a professional stage under the big lights without performance fees. Costumes are provided for the performance and event photography is available.
