About This Activity
Hike down to our pond to meet the amazing cattail plant. Gather cattail leaves while learning about its edible and crafting uses. Watch as the instructor gathers a few cattail corms (next year's shoots stored underground). Back at the Innovation Center, weave cattail leaves to make a small coaster. Bring waterproof boots and rain gear. Note: An adult must accompany each child (no charge for accompanying adults). The accompanying adult must be specified upon registration. The same adult may be used for sibling. Ages: Youth + Adult (Program for school-aged children to participate in with a grown up. Adult participation is required. Cost: $15 per child. No charge for accompanying an adult. Physical Demand [4] = Activity includes around 1 mile of walking on trails with uneven terrain and hills.
