About This Activity

Description

The outdoor nature play program is designed to foster a connection with the natural world. Through guided exploration and sensory activities, children are encouraged to engage with the environment around them. The philosophy behind the classes is to give children open-ended weekly outdoor play ideas to develop life skills including, but not limited to, persistence, wellness, sensory play, creativity, focus, problem-solving, empathy, and communication.

Note to caregivers: Each class begins with sharing photos and facts about an animal. We will be exploring the park area; I request that everyone please wear closed-toe shoes.
Designed for children aged 1 to 12. Must be accompanied by an adult.
Nature class takes place no matter the weather! We will seek shelter from rain; however, I encourage anyone that wants to embrace the elements to do so as long as there is no lightning. Some children like to explore with their whole body, and I recommend bringing a change of clothing and/or a towel. I provide a bucket of water for rinsing hands and there is a bathroom at the park, if needed. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
