About This Activity
Description
The Oak Leaf Legacy is a youth Philanthropy Club focused on instilling a love for giving and community support. It empowers young individuals with essential life skills, confidence, and compassion. The program will educate them on research, best practices, and the principles of philanthropy, encouraging informed and impactful charitable contributions. The goal of this club is to learn the best practices of philanthropic giving, how to navigate reputable organizations and which aren't, learn about local vs national giving, proper research techniques, and an essay will need to be produced as to why the child sees their not-for-profit organization is deserving of the funding.
When you register through the Oak Brook Park District Foundation, $500.00 of your child's registration fee will go to your child's charity of choice, and the remainder to go to the Oak Brook Park District Foundation, making it an accessible opportunity for young philanthropists to support causes they care about.
