Prepare for a career as a phlebotomist in this 90-hour course. You will prepare for a national certification exam and learn how to collect blood specimens from patients and blood donors for laboratory analysis. In addition, participants will study infection control techniques and how to interact with others. Important qualities: compassion, detail-oriented, dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina. (bls.gov) Textbooks and supplies included. Students will have the opportunity to sit for the national certification exam within 2-4 weeks after the last day of class. The national certification exam is now included in the tuition. The class is scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM and three Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Saturday dates are October 12, November 2, and November 16.
