This is a tentative program. Registrations will be accepted if it becomes official.
The Program is designed to meet the recreational needs of intellectually disabled adults and is operated by the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Department, Northwest Division. This Program is designed for highly functioning individuals with intellectual disabilities. Events and activities include crafts, bowling, dinner, socials, hiking, movie nights, bingo, museum trips, sporting events, seasonal outings, and more. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, follow general code of conduct and behavior guidelines, function independently, participate during the majority of program activities and be self-sufficient (e.g. Self-toileting and self-feeding) or have an individual provider join them during program hours and activities. The program is offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Washington Activity Center, 2240 W. Citrus Way, transportation is provided from the center when events are off-site. Participants using a wheelchair must use their own transportation or a wheelchair accessible provider. The Partners will go on one Saturday outing each month. A calendar will be provided at the beginning of each month with scheduled activities.
